1. i can't mention the letter "h" without a chorus of taiwanese children chanting "h1n1, h1n1." that's starting to get really annoying. tomorrow, they will all go have their vaccinations, and were oddly excited by this today.
2. today i met a hawaiian who, upon learning where i was from, asked me why i didn't have a southern accent. i almost didn't have a reaction to that. i still have one! bah!
3. my second sister, abby, got her liscense today. what?!?!?! how is she even that old? does that make me old?
4. taiwan's weather in summer is miserable and unbearable and at times made me want to jump into the arctic sea, but today was the most perfect weather i have ever seen anywhere at any time of year in my life.
5. i can't believe rika and tadao will be here in 2 weeks! yaaaaaaaaaaaaay yay yay to infinity.
6. i really miss winter-y things like getting ready for christmas, and wearing coats and scarves, and thanksgiving, and good food, and going home for school breaks, etc etc. i especially miss the smell of winter and fall (as opposed to here, the wonderfully wintery smell of open sewer).
7. sometimes, i have to stop and think for like 5 minutes of the correct english verb conjugation or vocabulary word. and sometimes, even after 5 minutes...i can't.
8. i just paid 6$us for a jar of jelly.
9. sunday night, i sat on the bench in the park across from my house for almost 2 hours and looked at the stars between all the skyscrapers in my city. i was shocked that i could see them because #1 it had poured rain all day and #2 i was in the middle of a city, but it was one of the most beautiful things i've ever seen.
10. there is a mosquito in my apartment that has bitten me, at last count, 26 times, and i've already broken my webcam, one cup, and my hairbrush trying to kill that stupid thing.
