right after this photo was taken, i almost vomited from laughter. i do love that feeling. and thank you mary for your awesome haiku about it:
one head caused big laugh
the longest laugh i have heard
15 minutes long?
today i ate 3 guavas. when i first moved to taiwan and people kept making me eat guavas, i thought they tasted like solidified perfume. seriously. but now, i love them. I ACTIVELY SEEK THEM OUT. the passage of time is a strange animal that does very strange things to people and their taste buds, such as making solidified perfume taste good enough to pay $35nt for.
i am currently waiting for a life plan to show up at my doorstep. or in the form of a letter to my mailbox, a swift kick to the face...anything. i am kind of at a loss...i expected to stay in taiwan longer than this, but for whatever reasons, i have found myself headed back to the motherland. to a newly unknown destination. granted, i will have only been gone for a year, but SO MUCH changes during that time. actually, i think life at home will still be relatively the same: its me who has changed. and that's normal, i'm just really hoping there will be a place for me when i go back. at this point, i'm at DESTINATION UNKNOWN.
in other news, here is a poem for everyone. our friend flea showed it to us on saturday night at dinner while we were making him translate 203948203 haikus for us.
床前明月光
疑是地上霜
舉頭望明月
低頭思故鄉
its a traditional chinese poem, and the translation is (roughly):
from my bed, i can see the reflection of the moonlight:
it looks like frost on the floor, but i doubt that's what it is.
i raise my head to look up at the moonlight,
and then i bow my head to miss my homeland.
