flying cockroaches are the reason i can't sleep at night.

cockroaches in taiwan are about as big as the mosquitoes, which are as big as parrots. and, they can FLY. as if the most heinous of all creatures needed to be able to do something as sinister as FLYING. anyway, i am too traumatized to relive the whole experience by writing about it in detail, but suffice it to say that today i was brutally attacked by a FLYING COCKROACH, screamed bloody murder, and was rescued by my boss who was wielding a broom and a bottle of hand sanitizer while a crowd of very confused 8-year olds looked on in mutual terror/amusement as their teacher was reduced to tears in the lobby of the school. i really won't sleep for a long time. really.

i can't believe it has been one year since i graduated. i remember it very well as being the worst day of my life, and i remember walking across the stage, crying buckets like an idiot while all my professors were smiling and congratulating me, telling me that now my life would start, yay! but the only thing i could think was..."my life is over." so in true katie fashion, i fled to taiwan and i have to say that it was the best thing i've ever done. but i can't figure out where the last year has gone! impossible! it really seems so short. my life has changed so much in this short time. i am totally not ready to leave taiwan yet, in fact i almost cry at even the thought of it...how is it possible that its even time yet? I JUST GOT HERE! its really weird too... a year is just long enough to figure out what the heck is going on, and now i have to leave.

no worries, i'm sure i'll find my way back over here someday ;)
