ohhhhhhh my word, i'm so glad this week is over. i spent most of it hovering somewhere between life and death (not really but i felt really bad). this morning i woke up and i felt much much better, 100% again (THANK GOODNESS). its really horrible to be sick in another country, especially if you're as big a baby as i am, and if, like me, you think that every virus you catch is the most debilitating you've ever had and are sure that you are drawing your last breaths.

anyway, i'm celebrating being un-sick and not puking by eating a big plate of rice and some kind of ham stuff, a coke, and taiwanese chocolate :) and tomorrow i'm going to attempt to eat hot-pot and hope i live to tell about it...

lately, my dreams are really freaking me out. its all the languages in my head getting severely mixed up and twisted around. sometimes i dream in "chinese" (which isn't real chinese, just sounds i pick up and random sentences that i know). its especially creepy because in the dreams, it is usually only english speaking friends or my family who are speaking to me in "chinese." sometimes, i am even dreaming that i can only speak chinese and no english at all! last night, i dreamt entirely in german. this dream really really creeped me out because in the dream, i was still living in taiwan and trying to ask people where the 7-11 was, but they kept telling me there wasn't one. in the dream i kept thinking, "i'm being so rude, speaking german to people, i should ask in english or chinese" but everytime i tried either of those two languages, i didn't know what to say. creepy for two reasons: #1 how will life go on without 7-11?!?!?! and #2 i'm forgetting english bit by bit while poor german and chinese are fusing together to make some very strange hybrid that no one, not even fake people in my subconscious, can understand.
