i dont even remember what the last thing i blogged about was, so ill start at the last thing i remember =)
saturday morning's (9ammmmmmmm) kindy was the last class of this month's term. which means that tomorrow begins a new term! i can't BELIEVE that its already august! and that wednesday makes one month that ive been here. time flieeeeeeees. one month?! thats honestly shocking. i really cannnnnot believe it. are the next 11 going to go by so fast?! i really hope not. i just finished my second full week of teaching which is also just crazy to think about!
today it is 38 degrees outside which is about 100 farenheit and the humidity is OUTRAGEOUSSSSSSSSSS which basically means that going outside = death.
this weekend, my dear friend becca suprised me by telling me that she could come from taipei to jhubei to visit me! she is here doing missions for the summer. so, after a tiny bus mishap she arrived! it was sooooo good to see her. almost odd: she was the first non-asian id seen since i left taipei! haha. we ate guo tien for dinner (mmmmmmmmmmmmm!) and had a nice long chat, catching each other up on each of our adventures in taiwan! i havent had a proper chat with someone face to face (speaking fast, slang, american english!) since ive been in taiwan since ive been here! it was so good to see her. then, we decided to go exploring jhubei. and yay--i found an entirely new part of the city that up until last night i had no idea existed! and its coooooool- tons of food stalls and shops and the coolest store ive ever been to (darn chinese-i have no idea the name of it). our poor english, though...we were at at 100nt store looking through the shirts with hilarious english. becca found one that said "theory of love." she looked at me and said "haha, look at this one...look what it says: the-ory of love!" i guess either of us will be lucky if we can go home still speaking english at the native level =) we also went to carrefour and i bought a juicer for 35nt and a pen for 9nt!!!!!! we were psyched. after staying up alllll night chatting about old times and new, we went to bed and then she left this morning to head back to taipei! it was such an encouraging visit. being alone so much of the time is haaard, especially for someone with my personality. in the ihouse (or my parents'), i couldnt be alone even if i wanted to. there was always someone around, and if not, i could find someone easily. they all spoke english. we all lived together. i love people and i love being around people and talking to people until they are absoultely sick of listening to me. in taiwan right now, thats not always possible. its still something im getting used to. its good to have solitude...dont get me wrong. but when solitude turns into downright loneliness...its no fun. thanks becca!
i love taiwan so much. i love the fooooooooood in taiwan. i love that they love to fry things. i love that i am now able to write my entire address in chinese, thank you very much! =) i love that its one more month closer to winter so that maybe i can refreeze. you know how when a reese melts in the car you can put it in the fridge and its magically a reese again instead of a big pile of chocolate? thats what i feel like will happen to me when winter finally comes.
by the way, it took me 3 hours to clean my house and FINALLY finish unpacking but its spotless now! and i have discovered that my new favorite thing to do is go into home stores and try not to buy everything they sell. i cant believe i have my own place! i can decorateeeeeeeeeeeee. yay.

I promise you what I promised Moses: ‘Wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you ... No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.
Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them. Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
I am so jealous. I can't wait to come to Taiwan, hopefully in the Spring. Some of us have been talking, you know we do that, and decided we aren't sure if you will come back from Taiwan unless you are basically forced to. Haha. Keep blogging about your adventures!
